A century-old family tradition

We’d love to tell you a little about us; let’s have a cup of coffee first…

Francisco Marcucci arrived in Guatemala at the end of the 19th Century. He bought a property in Moyuta, Jutiapa, in 1908 and turned it into a coffee farm, which he called Finca Los Matazanos.

Later, a village, Bethania, developed in this farm. Don Francisco, best known as Papa Pancho, began to grow coffee after thoroughly researching and concluding that the area was optimal for this crop. Then, we built a wet mil in Los Matazanos, which has continued to work until today.

His oldest son, José Estanislao Marcucci Recinos, learned his father’s trade. After don Francisco passed in 1937, José took over the coffee farm.  José Marcucci is a great coffee producer and buyer.

His daughter, Claudia, began to work in 1986 in Finca Los Ángeles with her husband, Carlos. On his part, Don Carlos has extensive experience and knowledge; he has worked his whole life in agriculture, mainly growing coffee.

In 1986, the couple Enríquez Marcucci begins to work in Finca Los Ángeles. In 1987, don Carlos graduates as professional coffee taster from Anacafé and Intecap.

A wet mill was built in 1991; during 1998, the farm was completely planted. During 2018, the varieties Catuai Rojo and Sarchimor were planted2000-2019 Finca Los Ángeles continues with its growth.

Today, the farm has a new dry mill to help with the process and delivery of the best export-grade coffee.

Coffee for the next century

PASSION FOR GOOD COFFEE RUNS THROUGH OUR VEINS

This is a very special stage in our work and passion; we are constantly improving to meet the requirements in the market. Our goal is to ensure maximum quality. The region where we are located is privileged and known for its premium-grade coffee. We are in Oratorio, Santa Rosa.

Our coffee grows on the mountains, surrounded by clouds, and overlooking the sea. We have the perfect recipe to produce something unique in the whole world: the best coffee from our selection of coffee beans, the altitude of the mountains, and the pleasing freshness of the sea breeze.

Café de los Ángeles has chocolate notes.

The new generation is ready to continue with the tradition and love of coffee, from the seeding up to its preparation and export. We take care of each production stage to make Café de los Ángeles paradise in a cup.

“It is alwalys a great time for a cup of coffee"

- Don Carlos Enríquez  -

Healthy crops, less susceptible to disease.

We are implementing organic solutions for soil management and a responsible and sustainable cultivation. This improves the quality of our coffee and maintains the ecosystem and the biological balance. During 2008 we began with a vermicomposting project; we used the Californian red earthworm.

The goal of this project arises from the need of having a long-term strategy to return nutrients and organic matter to the soil.

And, as a result, we have reduced the chemical load of the soil by 90%.

We produced a balanced cup of coffee, with excellent properties.
